Kala Ramesh Memorial Award 2024 Goes to Amulya & Aryan

 

Mother Bursts into Tears feels Grateful to Ramesh Rajaraman and PCWJ

 

Mumbai:Mrs. Kala Ramesh, resident of Chennai and ex member of Press Club of Working Journalists, an all-India organization committed to the safety and welfare of journalists, who passed away tragically in the Kedarnath helicopter crash in the year 2022 is being given a special tribute on the occasion of her birth anniversary March 15 for consecutive second year post her demise.

 

This thought is an initiative of her soul sister, well-known writer and National Organization General Secretary of Press Club of Working Journalists, Shashi Dip, Mumbai under which an award will be given to the parents of a physically or mentally disabled child (Child with Special Need) or any deserving underprivileged child every year. This honor includes a framed certificate, sweet box and a cash amount of Rs. 2100/- It is hoped that this initiative will uplift the morale of the parents of such children and the money will be used for the upbringing and education of the child. Since late Kala Ramesh ji worked in a school for Children with Special Needs and has been selflessly providing free counseling to the parents of such children for years this initiative will be the best tribute to her. 

 

This year, this special memorial gift has been given away to Neela Ashok Jadhav alias Urmila, a domestic help from Mumbai, who is a mother of four children out of them two younger children, Amulya and Aryan, are very young and her husband passed away unexpectedly in the age of 45 due to an electric shock. The reward money was donated by Kala Ramesh's husband Shri Ramesh Rajaraman and children Archith (daughter-in-law Nitya) Sanjana (son-in-law Shriram). Founder President of PCWJ organization, honorable Dr. Syed Khalid Kais ji appreciated Shashi Dip and her team for this noble initiative and stated that not only the association supports and grants permission to carry out such humanitarian work but it adds sense of honour and pride to the association. He added such acts are unique demonstration of discharging duty sincerely while being alert and conscious about humen sensitivities in the society, It is hoped that this work will enliven the departed soul and inspire the society. Shashi Dip was accompanied by Nalini Upasinian jee Maharashtra Navnirman Sena zonal president, and volunteers Anjali Patil (ex-banker audit manager), Ramila Patel and Aarti Chavan who extended their help and precious time for successful execution of the notion.
